Food contact cling films

• Do you produce PVC films?

  We don't produce PVC film, Crocco SpA produces PE (Polyethylene) food stretch film and compostable food stretch film.

• Do PVC, PE and compostable films have the same performance?

  They have similar performances. Over the years, PE and recently compostable products developments have gone so far as to make the 3 materials interchangeable. Only some minor aspects, such as elastic memory or transparency, may be slightly different.

• Are PVC, PE and compostable films equally suitable for food contact?

  No, only PE film is suitable for direct contact with any type of food, even fatty food, such as oil, butter, marinades. PVC film, although still the most widespread on the market, is subject to various limitations as stated on the product packaging.

• Do I have to have a special packaging machine to use a PE or COMPOSTABLE? Or do I have to use adaptation kits?

  No, PE or compostable film has been developed in such a way that it can be packed on the same machine that is used for PVC film applications. Any minor settings are operations that those who operate the machine on a daily basis can carry out themselves.

HP films

• Do HP films contain recycled material?

  No, HP films do not contain recycled material but contain high-performance resin.

• Do HP films guarantee load stability even though they have a thinner thickness?

  Yes, HP films guarantee the same performance as traditional film even though their thickness is reduced.

• Do the parameters of the wrapping machines have to be changed in relation to HP film?

  No, the parameters can remain as they are and, if necessary, the characteristics of the HP film can be modified to make it compatible.

• Is HP film recyclable?

  Yes, the HP film is recyclable.

Pre-stretched films

• Can pre-stretched film also be used for automatic use?

  The pre-stretched film is designed to be used manually but can also be adapted for automatic use.

• Can a pre-stretch be produced without the use of a cardboard mandrel?

  Yes, you can choose to include it or not.

Stretch Hood

• Can a stretch hood be made with recycled material?

  Yes, it is possible to make stretch hoods with recycled material.

• Can a stretch hood be made without EVA?

  Yes, stretch hoods can be made EVA free.

Technical film

• Do you make polyethylene films that act as oxygen barriers?

  No, we do not currently have plants that allow us to make traditional barrier films. However, we have solutions that allow a barrier effect, even if it is reduced.

• What kind of peelable films can be made?

  The peelable films that can be produced are PE peelable, PP peelable, paper peelable and glass peelable.

Shrink packaging

• Do you produce films in HDPE (High Density PE)?

  No, it is not part of our extrusion processes.

• Is shrink film recyclable?

  Yes, shrink film is recyclable.

• Is the material you produce all 100% recycled?

  No, percentages may vary depending on usage and customer requirements. Some of our products have a certified PCR content of up to 98%.

• Can non-fusion films contain post-consumer material (PCR)?

  Yes, up to a maximum percentage of 30%.

• Do bicolour films exist?

  Yes, there are films of this type for certain applications.
